- *Acts 13 v 21 refers to "about the space of 40 years" (is it Saul's age or the length of his reign or an accurate record of a mistake in Paul's speaking from memory?), but in OT (I Samuel 7 v 2) the Ark was 20 years in Kirjath-jearim (Baale) from before Saul's reign until David brought it back when he had reigned in Jerusalem at least 7½ years after Saul's death. Thus Saul's reign can be no more than 12½ years according to OT.
