A definition of the game of golf.

Outdoor club–and–ball game in which the player knocks a small white ball over a long grass course using sticks with bent or shaped heads in an attempt to hit the ball into a series of small holes in the ground in as few shots as possible.

Except for a few very talented players, golf can be a frustrating game. Frustrating to see shot after shot roll by the hole. Eventually, it goes in. Sometimes. It's all a bit 'hit and miss'.

The Christian faith is no such 'hit and miss' affair. God has made it very straightforward, easy to understand and simple to receive.

You see, all the hard work has been done by Jesus. He came to this earth when He saw what a mess man was making of his life missing the mark, time after time.

If the target is perfection - that's a hard target to hit!
God's standard is just that - perfection. Our sin is always going to stop us from coming into God's presence. And we are never going to be able to get rid of that sin…..by ourselves.

So Jesus did it for us. He took our sin upon Himself and paid the price with His own life.

Don't let your intellect tell you it makes no sense. Accept by faith what God wants you to have - forgiveness of your sin. Accept that Jesus has cleared the debt and ask Him to 'hit the mark' in your life as you receive Him into you life.
