The Church at Gun Hill is an Elim Pentecostal Church in Bowers Gifford, Essex.
The church was built in 1884 as a Congregational Church. Apparently, John Willsmer, the miller from nearby Pitsea, was one of the people responsible for the building of the church. Interesting pictures and information of that period can be found in at least three books published by local authors1.
In the 1940s, the building was bought by the Elim Pentecostal Church and has maintained a witness to the Gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ and to the Truth of God's Word, the Bible, through the years and into the 21st century.
In addition to our Sunday services, we also meet on a Tuesday evening at 8.00pm for Bible Study.

What We Believe"
We believe the tremendous truth that Jesus is alive. We can tell you this, not just because the Bible says so, but because
we experience it every day in our lives and every time we meet together as a fellowship of God's people. This same Jesus who
died for our sins to bring us back to God, is alive today. This same Jesus still saves and transforms ruined lives today.
This same Jesus still heals and delivers from crushing and overbearing situations. Come and find out for yourself!
